MARDEK Portraits 4: Vehrnby *Pseudolonewolf

It feels nice to be so productive; I've been starting a new one of these as soon as I've uploaded the last, and they take around an hour to complete, so I'm getting through them *relatively* quickly.

Again, I am learning a lot from each one of these! Still trying to keep to some kind of style of my own, but I'm trying to learn about faces and expressions as I go along too.

Smiles can mean so many things, can represent so many different feelings. Which is interesting.

When I designed the MARDEK cast all those many years ago, I consciously tried to avoid the over-the-top anime sorts of appearances, with multicoloured spiky hair sculptures atop their heads which must have taken oh so much hairspray to keep in that position and so on.
Vehrn is probably as 'ridiculous' as the characters' appearances get just because his hair is purple. I wonder if he dyes it?

This one is far better, the thing that bothered me about the old faces was how the mouth "overwrote" the beard, this is better

Who knows? And I'd imagine him a with a little more... Err... Was it flesh or muscle for his line of work? Ah, but I hope you get my point.

I particularly like this one, hes got the smile of a charismatic holy saint warrior that would do anything to help the elderly cross the road and at the same time eyes of an egoistic over self righteous preacher. Conclusion, i like it. Though i dont know if you have purposely gave character to these drawing or your fingers somehow magically channel your inner Vehrn. Either way it works.
