Artist's Comments

This 'ere be a piece o' moo-sick that I done composerised!
It's been a while since I composed a "Ramble"... But this one's certainly named aptly, I think! I mean... because it's the 19th ramble of mine. But also because it rather does ramble on quite a bit and goes off topic all the time!

This isn't some shallow tune that you can get everything out of in your first listening. It'd probably take you more than one time(s) to even be able to *follow* it... because it's *weird*. Uh... "eccentric", yes, that!
I was also experimenting quite a lot, using all sorts of overlapping melodies, peculiar harmonies (and some intentional slight dissonance), new themes basically every 4 - 12 bars, mood changes, key changes, time signature changes, etc, etc... As such, like I said, it's "eccentric" and probably might not be most peoples' cup of tea perhaps!
Because music and tea are totally different entities.

Anyway, the quality's pretty low to keep the filesize low, but you can get a (9.25MB) mp3 here: [link]

Feedback is greatly appreciated!!

(This was composed in a music notation program called Sibelius and took about three days, working on it on and off.)
(ALSO I THINK IT'S ART WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT DOESN'T BELONG ON DEVIANTART!? o_O)

Oh, also, apparently I forgot to add a preloader thing, so it doesn't load anything until it's fully loaded. So be patient; it's 1.7MB so probably won't load instantly!

ALSO, PLEASE listen to the whole thing before commenting!!

I like it. You have very delightful taste in music, and this one is certainly befitting your Mardek game, per tune.

You conveyed a bit of nostalgia for 8 to 16 to 32 bit old RPG games, perhaps unintentionally, and it works with your style nicely. Though I may be biased with my praise, because I have fond memories of that era. ^.^

Hope to hear and see more of your works, bro. S'good!

Nobody's told you they don't think it belongs here, have they?? Because it so obviously does.

Very nice, although there seems to be a problem with the flash that, when it cycles back, it goes to 8:39 instead of the beginning. Which is a shame, because I really enjoy the beginning.

absolutely wonderfull. long and complex but dosnt get tedious to listen to. it very much as your description states sounds like someone (probably with bipolar disorder) rambling on. changes styles smoothly, not too urruptly and an ultimate pleasure to listen to. my favorite part is 1:47-2:30.

(please forgive my spelling)

There is something incredibly cathartic about writing a 10+ minute epic. I like this a lot, very well composed... intricate, yet you follow the "rules" of music theory well enough to keep it "seeming" simple; ie, you can follow it, opposed to say, something like Dillinger Escape Plan which is so overwhelming it is near impossible to figure out where the song is going, or even where it "is."

Keep it up!

You're right about one thing. It does ramble on and on; and it gets annoying sometimes, but it's not boring.

I'm unfortunately not good at giving people comments about music, simply because I don't know enough about music. So you probably won't get any advanced comment here, hope it'll do anyway.

Em, since it was quite odd, as you said (but hey, I like odd! It's odd in a good way!), it's a bit hard to describe which parts I liked most, so.. I'll try it another way. I really liked this when I had listened to about 4 minutes of it. And the end was also very nice!

To be completely honest with you, I like this entire piece very much, because it's not the same all the way through! I like that it goes a bit of up and down, and that there's so much variation in it.

And as I'm listening to it again, I must also say that I like it a bit extra around 3.34.

This is awesome - I'm not really 'one' for this type of music, but it reminded me loads of a couple of Final Fantasy games X3 It's really good - it has a multitude of different tones, and I'm glad I took the time to listen to it.

Estelle: They're... bouncing.
Judith: What? What're you looking at?
Estelle: .. I wish I could bounce like that.

Heh, I'd hardly call 10 minutes "epic"... More like "average" for me and shorter than most pieces of music I listen to. (I planned on making it at least 15 minutes to outdo Ramble VIII's length, but decided against it due to... impatience, of me working on it and others listening to it! Myes, there's a reason why most SONGS these days are like three minutes long if not shorter... >_> )
Also, I'm not fond of music that's TOO "experimental", like, say, avante garde... What's music if you can't *follow* it? o_O
