I'm a lonely introvert who wants to find meaningful connections with like-minded individuals, but I struggle so much to find them due to my shyness. I'm not the sort of person who likes 'going out', to parties or group things or whatever, and I'm even highly uncomfortable about Facebook because it seems to be all about showing off your social life and many friends, neither of which are things I have. I'd much rather have a small number of deep friendships than many acquaintances anyway.

I make websites! I wanted to try to make a site for people like me; essentially the sort of place I WISH existed. Somewhere where shy, lonely people can find people who they can relate to, who'll understand them, rather than more confident types who make them feel broken. A place where introversion is valued... or at least not thought of as a flaw to hide behind a mask.

I've called it Soultome, because while Facebook focuses on the shallow surface, the 'face', this site aims to explore deeper feelings and values, encouraging people to talk about what's in their heart and mind, rather than simply the THINGS they've done or got.

I've no idea if anyone here would be interested in it, but it's brand new and in need of members (and I'm not sure where to find any), so you're free to join if it interests you at all! You can find the url here:

Some things to note:

* I released the site a week or so ago, but something embarrassing came up that prevented me from looking for new members until now! That's why it awkwardly might look as if there's nobody there yet. Everything has to start somewhere!

* Those of you who've been watching me for a while may remember that I've done this before, but with a different site... That one ended up having mixed results, and various reasons made me avoid it after a while. After being at university for a term, though, my interest in such a place has been strongly rekindled, and I've remade it rather than reviving that place because I feel that I should have approached it very differently... So I indeed have done this time!

* I've used places like my gaming website and deviantART to write about my thoughts and feelings before, but I'll probably start using Soultome for that if it gets beyond the awkward point where I'm the only active member!

PLEASE NOTE: I write about what's on my mind in these journals a lot, but it's largely to vent and to find people who can relate to what I say, to hear understanding and to know I'm not alone, rather than for people to try and *solve my problems* through advice or criticism or anything like that.
I really appreciate comments, but please keep this in mind! Thank you for reading!

Yes, like Verdusk, I've also had the same issue where the link for activating my account did not work, and this was on my yahoo account as well.
