Art is my passion, along with world building, so much so, I feel like my art holds a piece of my soul, I can't bear parting with it!

I don't intend to become professional because I know I suck, no one will buy my art or pay for it, etc, but I still spend time... It's in my blood. It's something I have to do or it'll be like mental suicide.

"Other" was my choice.

1st choice: I Don't live for my art, and neither am I trying to become a professional
2nd choice: Art is not my favorite hobby
3rd? choice: Something I do sometimes? Not Enthusiastic?! HARDLY!!! I draw daily and with great interest. I'm an art addict.

After that, the choices after that are all negative...

Okay so here's my reason for selecting "Other"

My first observation is on the subject of having something to live for. As a lot of comments suggest, there are plenty of wonderfully talented artists out there who do not "live" for what they do. They might just do it because they are good at it, or enjoy it somewhat, but they do not live for their art. Probably there are a lot of people out there who don't "live" for anything actually. This isn't always their fault.

Not dissing that thought in any way though. I firmly believe everyone should find something or someone to live for. :)

Anyway, I found art shortly before entering college, when I was looking on google art for references to a story I was writing with a friend. I spent a week looking for the pic, and got really obsessed with finding it. This site called Deviant Art seemed to turn up the most results when searching through so I spent a lot of time browsing.

After entering college I started spending more time on dev art and found myself drawing a little myself.

I was given a few art books on various occasions and bought a few on sale, before we finally moved to a town with a comic shop. That sealed the deal and I found myself interested in art on a level I had not thought possible before. I've been drawing for about 2 years now and am actively trying to get better.

Art isn't my profession, nor is it my favorite hobby or even just something I do. I NEVER drew growing up, but have worked my butt off to get to the point where I am now. I intentionally taught myself to draw and am still teaching myself, because of my passion for art as I have seen it.

I would go to art school were I not already walking a different path. :)

I said "other."

I am not a visual artist, but it is still important to me... My mother is a curator/contemporary visual artist. I simply lack the skill to make it become a passion (although, after a year of taking an art course in highschool, I will say that my shitty drawings became quite less shitty.)

I am deeply interested in the concepts people put into their art and how they use visual metaphor to display their emotions and thoughts...

"I LIVE FOR MY ART! I intend to become a professional, devoting my life to it!!"

Well....that's a little stronger than how I feel XD, but I think it's the closest to my opinion =P. I want to do something with my art......only WHAT is the main question........hmmm....

....I probably won't end up with an art career at first, or maybe never -pessimist-, but I'll never stop doing it, that's for sure :). Yep.
